Use of flame retardants in daily life
Announcer:道尔  Date:2020/1/10 10:52:57  Views:256

Fire is a natural disaster but more often a man-made disaster. In our daily production and life, due to the lack of safety awareness of electricity and fire, this often poses a threat to our lives. In some enterprises and factories, many are not equipped with fire prevention facilities. Even if they are equipped, these facilities are not regularly inspected. We should equip ourselves and other people's lives with relevant fire extinguishing equipment, such as fire extinguishers, fire retardants, fire retardant fire exits, and fire fighting equipment. Dole Chemical is a high-tech enterprise integrating R & D, production and sales of fine chemicals. The company has undergone considerable development in more than ten years. The company's business covers all parts of the country. It has introduced a large number of foreign advanced technology patents and equipment. We are a leading developer, Manufacturers and marketers provide customized flame retardant application services to many well-known companies.

Let's take a look at this knowledge together. Flame retardants, also known as flame retardants, flame retardants or fire retardants, are collective names for substances that can prevent the flame from burning. According to ingredients, flame retardants can be divided into organic flame retardants, inorganic flame retardants, and so on. Its working principles include physical and chemical principles. Flame retardants are widely used in construction and textile materials, and flame retardant plastics are the main flame retardant products.

The role of flame retardants in the fire extinguishing process

Cover effect

After the flame retardant is added to the combustible material, the flame retardant can form a glassy or stable foam cover at high temperature to isolate oxygen, and has the functions of heat insulation, oxygen barrier, and prevention of flammable gas from escaping to achieve flame retardancy. purpose. For example, organic phosphorus-blocking flame retardants can produce cross-linked solid substances or carbonized layers with more stable structures when heated. The formation of the carbonized layer can prevent the polymer from further pyrolysis on the one hand, and prevent the internal thermal decomposition products from entering the gas phase to participate in the combustion process.

2. Inhibit the chain reaction

According to the combustion chain reaction theory, free radicals are required to sustain combustion. The flame retardant can act on the gas phase combustion zone to capture the free radicals in the combustion reaction, thereby preventing the flame from propagating, reducing the flame density in the combustion zone, and ultimately reducing the combustion reaction rate until termination. For example, the halogenated flame retardant has the same or similar evaporation temperature as the polymer decomposition temperature. When the polymer is thermally decomposed, the flame retardant is also volatilized at the same time. At this time, the halogen-containing flame retardant and the thermal decomposition product are in the gas phase combustion zone at the same time, and the halogen can capture the free radicals in the combustion reaction, thereby preventing the flame from spreading, reducing the flame density in the combustion zone, and finally reducing the combustion reaction rate until the termination .

3. Asphyxiating effect of non-combustible gas

When the flame retardant is heated, it decomposes non-combustible gas, and dilutes the concentration of combustible gas decomposed by the combustible material to the lower limit of combustion. At the same time, it also has a dilution effect on the oxygen concentration in the combustion zone, preventing the combustion from continuing and achieving a flame retardant effect.
