British fire retardant standard BS-5852
Announcer:道尔  Date:2020/1/10 10:54:14  Views:245

BS5852 is a British furniture fire protection standard. Its standard content requirements are much stricter than American standards. Specifically, it uses flannel and wooden frames as test tools. It is divided into four parts. Use acetylene flame to simulate matches for testing, and also to see the damage length.

The choice of flame retardant depends on the composition of the fabric

Durability for cotton fabrics and synthetic fibers: The so-called "salt finish" for non-durable flame retardant hemp.

Generally speaking, aqueous solutions of flame retardants are applied to textiles by padding or spraying. Due to the precipitation of flame retardant salt, it is collected on or between the fibers. Thereby, a non-durable flame retardant effect can be obtained. Depending on the composition of the flame retardant, the effect of resistance to dry cleaning can also be obtained. Semi-durable finishing of cotton and cotton / polyester blends, and for decorative fabrics in accordance with BS 5852 standard;

The BS 5852 standard does not require a washable flame retardant effect, but must be able to withstand specific water immersion tests. Perform immersion test according to BS 5852 standard. That is, the finished fabric is required to be treated in a 40'C warm water bath for 30ml. Then the flame retardant test is performed according to BS5852 standard. During the test, the fabric does not withstand mechanical stress: finishing with special "salt products" can meet these requirements. Apply this compound to the fabric. Bake at 150 ° C to 170 ° C for 3min to 4min. The baking treatment will cause slight cross-linking, so as to resist soaking in water, but this flame retardant effect is not durable.
