Industrial development of fire retardants
Announcer:道尔  Date:2020/1/10 9:28:23  Views:407

The production and application of fire retardants have entered a stage of steady development after experiencing vigorous development in the early 1980s. With the development of China's synthetic material industry and the continuous expansion of application fields, flame retardants have broad market prospects in various fields such as chemical building materials, electronics, transportation, aerospace, daily furniture, interior decoration, clothing, food, lodging and other fields. In addition, coal fields, oil fields, forest fire extinguishing and other fields have also promoted China's rapid development of flame retardant and fire extinguishing agent production. China's flame retardant has developed into the second largest polymer material modification additive after plasticizers.

In recent years, China's flame retardant production and consumption situation has continued to develop, with an average annual consumption growth rate of more than 20% from 2002 to 2004. Since 2002, the domestic consumption of flame retardants has risen sharply, and the increased market share mainly comes from two aspects: the electronics and automotive markets. The development of low-smoke and non-toxic inorganic flame retardants in China is imminent. Magnesium hydroxide has broad application prospects as a halogen-free environmentally friendly flame retardant. However, compared with foreign advanced products, domestically produced magnesium hydroxide flame retardants have low flame retardant efficiency, require high loadings, are easy to agglomerate, and affect the substrate Insufficient mechanical properties of materials require the industry to increase technical efforts to reduce production costs and product prices.

The global consumption of flame retardants in 2005 was about 1.3 million tons, and it is expected to maintain an average annual growth rate of 3.5% before 2010. Global sales of flame retardants in 2005 were approximately US $ 3.5 billion and it is expected to increase to US $ 4.6 billion in 2010 with an average annual growth rate of 5.6%. Among China's flame retardant products in 2007, chlorine-based flame retardants accounted for 84%, while low-smoke and non-toxic inorganic flame retardant products accounted for only about 8% of the total. Construction flame retardant materials have a huge potential market in China. At present, there is a large gap between the amount of flame retardants in China and those in developed countries. With the strengthening of the country's requirements for flame retardant technology, the development and development of China's low-smoke non-toxic flame retardants will have a better and broader prospect.
