With people's increasing awareness of environmental protection, safety and health, countries around the world have begun to take environmentally friendly flame retardants as the focus of research and development and application, and have achieved certain results. The flame retardants are classified according to effective elements and can be divided into phosphorus-based, chlorine-based, bromine-based, antimony-based, aluminum-based, boron-based flame retardants and the like. This article divides flame retardants into halogen-free flame retardants, bromine-based flame retardants, halogen-phosphorus synergistic flame retardants and other flame retardants based on the effective elements of flame retardants. Several of them are environmentally friendly and have application prospects Flame retardant. The characteristics of nylon flame retardant are as follows: Properties: white powder, non-toxic, tasteless, slippery feel; insoluble in water and most organic solvents. Uses: As a halogen-free flame retardant suitable for nylon, this product is especially suitable for use with two pure nylons, nylon 6 and nylon 66, which can easily achieve UL 94 V-0 flame retardant effect; Low application cost. Superior electrical, mechanical and coloring properties. Features: 1. Stable color; 2. Good electrical performance; 3. Meet environmental protection requirements.

As early as the early 19th century, various flame retardants have been developed. With the continuous expansion of the synthetic industry and the continuous improvement of flame retardant regulations, flame retardants have experienced a booming stage since the 1960s. Take the United States as an example. Since the 1960s, its flame retardant consumption has increased by about 30 times. Japan's flame retardant industry started late, but developed rapidly. In 1980 and 1982, the consumption of flame retardants was 60,000 tons and 73,000 tons, which reached 154,000 tons in 1996, which more than doubled in 15 years. Due to the lack of legislation in Western Europe, the development of flame retardant technology has been limited, and the flame retardant market before 1988 has been stagnant. At present, Britain, Germany and other countries have legislated, and the consumption of flame retardants in Western European countries has rapidly increased. In contrast, China's flame retardant development was relatively late, starting in the 1950s and basically in a stagnant state in the 1960s and 1970s, only a few products such as tetrabromoethane triphosphate were developed. The rapid development began in the 1980s. The output in 1985 was 5KT. Now the total output of flame retardants is about 100,000 tons. So far, there are more than 50 companies engaged in the development of flame retardants in China, and more than 120 varieties of flame retardants have been developed. However, there is still room for further improvement in the development of new products, and flame retardant products have not yet formed a competitive commercial market, which to a certain extent has hampered the development of flame retardants. However, this situation is improving. Not only the Ministry of Public Security but also various universities and research institutes have invested a lot of effort in the development of flame retardants. At present, China has been able to produce four major types of flame retardants: inorganic, phosphorus, bromine and chlorine.
